Allium Longiscuspis-Wild Garlic
In 1989 John Swenson and others were invited to go to the USSR with US Department of Agriculture to collect native alliums in Russia and Central Asia. They brought back 120 varieties of Garlic. One of which was Allium longicuspis. Most recent theory is It was a cultivated variety thousands of years ago and since had become wild and now being grown again as a cultivated variety. It has done well for us here in the Hudson Valley. Large cloves
