Originates in the region of the Czech Republic near the border with Bavaria.
Said to be brought to North America by Dr. Boris Andrst, a retired ophthalmologist from New York, who acquired it from a farmer while traveling through Bohemia.
With strongly bolting hardnecks, they make slender, highly coiled scapes.
